The prince of nine lives

I wasn't even serious when I posted earlier today that Ganguly will open for India. I took a deep breath and read aloud when I realized Ganguly is indeed playing and likely to open unless the team management pulls out an irfan or dhoni.

This puzzles me a great deal.

Frankly I care. Not because this whole "will he won't he" soap opera going on over the past few months with every facial itch of the concerned dissected and analyzed with great amusement could possible get any worse but because this series promises to be one of the most intriguing and exciting of all.

It is time to take care of business.

That's what I thought.

It is a fact that our coach loves to experiment to an extent that is closer to gambling than the so called "calculated risk". However forcing the prince to open is beyond any reasonable mind. May be Chappell is John Nash of cricket - with a beautiful mind. While I do not expect Rahul to voice any serious dissent but I did expect him to remain honest to what made him "the wall".

Last time I checked "spineless" is still a word in the dictionary.

For the prince, it is sad to see his fall through twisting stairs of egocentric politics and needless manouvering of power brokers. He thinks given a chance he could prove his worth.
He might as well.
He is a tough cookie.
He won't crack.

But this once proud man should have known better.

Just noticed..

another blog with an identical title with two subtle differences (it takes approximately 14 seconds including search time in case you want to figure them out....). While the differences may not be fundamental as some of you might want to believe, I am having serious thoughts about reconsidering the title of my own.

appetizing words

To begin with ... this is technically my first post and somewhere deep down I feel that more are about to come. Frankly I do not have the vaguest of ideas how this all going to pan out but worth a try to see how it goes.
In case you are wondering, let me assure you that I have spent the entire second half of the last year musing about this inevitability. For the record, this idea when divulged to my esteemed friends met with mixed responses. However, at some point they are going to provide additional words of wisdom of their own which I believe they have plenty albeit unrecognized.
